Why were the players and managers wearing those yellow wristbands in the 2006 MLB All-Star Game?

NEGREYJR asked:

The players and managers on both sides were wearing yellow wristbands with some initials (I think it was RCW) on them. Why were they wearing them and what did the initials mean?

Yellow and black for the Pittsburgh Pirates Roberto Clemente. He was commemorated during the game in the 5th
The initials are on the wristbands for his initials

The armbands honored Roberto Clemente, as already stated, and the colors were for his team, the Pittsburgh Pirates. But why RCW? Because in Spanish fashion, his name is actually Roberto Clemente Walker; the mother’s family name follows that of the father. His family recently requested the change, and his plaque in Cooperstown now reads that way also.
